The first draft of this haiku was from April 2024:

tea plantation tour…
I’m fine tasting
just the fog

As I look back at it, trying to post this for today’s #DailyHaikuPrompt on BlueSky, I felt the ‘I‘ and ‘I’m fine‘ were drawing too much attention and focus on myself. But that was the intention too, that I don’t want to taste raw tea leaves, I’m just fine tasting the fog that’s settled over the plantation. It reveals something about me, so it is more senryū perhaps. And I wanted to remove the focus on I and try to make this into a haiku, so changed it to:

tea plantation tour…
without the guide’s instructions
tasting the fog

The focus is still on my actions, but this also makes it easy for the reader to think about the fog itself.
